    I agree it is a sin but I think he is putting it to us that yes it is a sin but we have all sinned and fallen short and as Jesus said let him without sin cast the first stone. We get caught up in this one sin because it is against our cultural norm. Sins such as adultery are not looked at as harshly and in cases we accept it?? Greed, envy, false witness etc are seen in everyday Kenyan life but we accept them too! It comes down to culture NOT religious belief.

  Now the Pope must have angered many Kenyans? How dare he not JUDGE - that is what we do here in Kenya. Gays are un-christian, un-African and un-natural!!! And is this statement not an oxymoron -"If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?" I still cannot get past the fact that the Pope refuses to Judge - like How? Just a few weeks ago the Cardinal told POTUS to "forget, forget, forget" if he thinks Kenyan can "treat gays as equal human beings before the law!"

  As a Moral Philosopher who has taught and researched on Ethics for over seven years, I dare say that the two Popes, Benedict (retired) and Francis (incumbent) are not contradicting each other, and are absolutely right.   Dude-pope, you ought to teach the bible God's word as it is; not catechism and catholic traditiions that have nothing to do with the scriptures. God judges but you ought to teach people right and wrongs based on what the bible says so that people make right choices based on the bible.The Bible clearly condemns fornication, which includes homosexual relations. (Romans 1:26, 27; Galatians 5:19-21) While the Bible is definite about God’s disapproval of that lifestyle, we also know that “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16.

  More is required in exercising faith than just sing it-recognize what God hates, turn around to do the rght thing that pleases God and is harmony with the bible etc

  The type of reasoning that the pope used is wrong, wrong for a Christian. (Because, according to him, who are we Christians to judge the child molesters, the murderers, the rapists, the thieves etc). It does not matter what I or the pope or whoever else thinks. The question is, What does the Word of God say about this matter? Whenever a Christian faces any question in life, the first reference is the Word of God. No Christian leader is called to give his personal opinion if he is worthy his name before saying what God says first. Unfortunately many religious leaders have abandoned God's Word and are preaching their personal opinion. Jesus said they abandon God's law to follow human traditions.   Who am I judge gays? Those are the words of a coward, you are not judging, you should tell the truth, because when God`s judgement comes over them ,no remedy, that is why Church leaders should have the guts to confront the mess unless if you are part and parcel of the Garbage. The bible says.... The sodomites were gays!!!before the law of Moses. After the law, the bible still say in Romans/Ephesians/Colossians/ that Homosexuality is a provocation of creation.   This is very serious,the clergy cannot clearly state the word of God.This is simple Gay-ism is sin to God.God receives them if they repent and leave that habit,but if they die in that habit,God cannot receive them ,they will go to hell.the only way is to repent and stop it to be saved.You don't need to go to seminary to know this,in fact these theological schools leads them astray.
